Webtoon canvas size, explained
A webtoon episode is one long vertical strip read by scrolling. You draw it as a single tall canvas at the platform's width, then cut it into images the platform accepts, because upload forms limit the height of each image. For WEBTOON Canvas that has long meant 800 pixels wide and no more than 1280 pixels tall per image.
Many artists draw at double width (1600 pixels) and scale down on export, so lines stay crisp. Whatever you choose, keep the width identical across every episode.

Printers publish their own templates, and they win over any general table. Ask for the template before you start the final pages.
Sizes for social media comics
- Instagram feed: 1080 × 1350 (4:5) takes the most screen space; 1080 × 1080 for square.
- TikTok, Reels and Stories: 1080 × 1920 (9:16).
- Keep text away from the top and bottom of 9:16 images, where the app puts its buttons and captions.

What size is a webtoon canvas?
For WEBTOON Canvas the long-standing guidance is images 800 pixels wide and at most 1280 pixels tall each, with an episode made of several stacked images. Draw on one tall strip, then slice it. Platforms update their rules, so check the upload page before publishing.
What DPI should comic pages be?
For print, 300 DPI is the minimum for color art and 600 DPI is common for line art and lettering. For webtoons and social media, DPI does not matter — only the pixel size does.
What is bleed?
Extra artwork beyond the trim line, usually 0.125 inch or 3 mm on each side, so no white edge shows if the printer cuts slightly off. Keep text and faces inside the safe area, well away from the trim.
Which shape should I use for AI comic pages?
Use 9:16 portrait if readers will scroll on a phone, 1:1 square for pages shared as single images, and 16:9 for widescreen or video. Those are the three shapes Novel2Comic draws in.
